The A2 Geo is the flagship model from Groundtech, developed by Conrad Engineering. It goes beyond simple scanning by integrating two powerful detection methods into one device:
- MFS-3 Ground Scanner: For creating 3D graphics of magnetic anomalies (metals, voids).
- Geo-Electric Resistivity: For measuring soil resistance to find water, large tunnels, and non-magnetic metals.
Comprehensive Scanning Modes
The A2 Geo offers versatility for every terrain type, powered by a fast 240 MHz processor:
Uses the MFS-3 sensor to visualize the underground. It identifies the shape and depth of buried objects (metals and cavities) up to 20 meters deep.
Injects current into the ground using 4 probes. The device automatically analyzes the resistance values to locate water (low resistance) or voids (high resistance) without manual calculation.
Allows the user to manually select the probes and scanning area. This is ideal for experienced geologists who want specific data on soil layers and deep water sources.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why use the Resistivity System?
Resistivity is superior for finding things that don’t have a magnetic field, like **water**, empty caves (voids), and non-conductive structures. It perfectly complements the 3D scanner.
How do I set up the probes?
The 4 metal probes are hammered into the ground in a square or line configuration, connected by the 25m cables to the main unit. The device sends a signal through the earth between these points.
Does it work in rocky soil?
Yes, the A2 Geo is designed for difficult terrain. However, for resistivity scanning, it is important that the probes make good contact with the soil. In very dry rocky ground, wetting the probe contact points improves performance.
