Experience the next generation of gold prospecting with the Minelab GPZ 7000, the detector that redefines depth and sensitivity. Powered by revolutionary ZVT (Zero Voltage Transmission) technology, the GPZ 7000 penetrates highly mineralized ground up to 40% deeper than the legendary GPX 5000, allowing you to recover "retirement nuggets" that previous detectors simply couldn't reach. Its advanced Super-D smart coil configuration ensures incredible sensitivity to both tiny sub-gram flakes and massive deep gold, while the precision Ground Balance seamlessly neutralizes even the most severe soil conditions. Whether you are revisiting hunted-out patches or exploring new terrain, the GPZ 7000 is the ultimate tool for the serious prospector who refuses to leave gold behind.
EXTREME GOLD DEPTH | ZVT Technology (Zero Voltage Transmission)
“The GPZ 7000 isn’t gold, but sometimes it seems possible!”
Prospectors use the Minelab GPZ 7000 metal detector to accurately locate metals underground. Specifically, Minelab designed this device for gold prospecting, so it stands out for its extremely sensitive detection capabilities. Furthermore, the GPZ 7000 utilizes Minelab’s Zero Voltage Transmission (ZVT) technology, which enables significantly deeper exploration capabilities. Consequently, this technology reduces factors affecting ground mineralization, which ultimately yields more accurate results in the field.
The detector comes equipped with many different features and settings. For instance, these include wireless headphone connectivity, a high-resolution color touchscreen, magnetic target identification, and precise ground balance. Additionally, the detector’s ergonomic design ensures comfortable use for extended periods. Because of its high performance and precise detection capabilities, professionals worldwide rely on the Minelab GPZ 7000 in many different applications, such as mining and archaeology. However, you should note that this detector carries a high price tag because Minelab engineered it strictly for professional users.
Minelab built the GPZ 7000 specifically for serious gold prospectors. Therefore, it detects deep-seated gold objects much faster than competing detectors. Moreover, its easy-to-use menu makes it suitable for both amateur and professional prospectors, and you will find it more intuitive than older Minelab models. Ultimately, ZVT technology provides significantly improved depth for detecting gold objects. In addition, its metal discrimination feature allows you to easily identify non-precious metals before digging. By balancing the ground according to the mineral content of the soil, the system ensures more stable operation and prevents frustrating interference from the soil structure.

Bruce Candy’s revolutionary new technology delivers a significant leap in gold performance. Indeed, ZVT technology takes all serious gold prospectors to the NEXT LEVEL, providing significantly improved depth. Consequently, you will no longer face the limitations of using sine-wave continuous VLF transmission detectors, which can be insensitive to varying gold sizes, or square-wave PI transmission detectors that struggle in mineralized ground.
“This revolutionary new ZVT technology is far more than just GPX detectors for detecting deep, wide nuggets and finding gold at any depth. The GPZ 7000 will reopen gold fields.”
— Bruce Candy, Inventor of GPZ
How deep can you go? You can search 40% deeper than the older GPX series*. Thanks to revolutionary new ZVT technology, old gold fields become new again. Indeed, Minelab takes you deeper than ever before!
The GPZ 7000’s incredible sensitivity with its Super D coil gives you the ultimate advantage in this field. As a result, you will find gold that others have missed, ranging from sub-gram gold to those elusive ‘retirement nuggets’.
Most gold rests in mineralized, ‘difficult’ ground that many standard detectors cannot overcome. However, the GPZ 7000 “balances” and automatically “tracks” flawlessly even in the most challenging ground conditions.
The GPZ 7000’s exceptional noise immunity ensures a very smooth and quiet perception. Specifically, with 256 Noise Cancellation channels, the GPZ 7000 actively picks up less atmospheric noise. Therefore, you hear the sound underneath, not the noise interference!
The easy-to-use Menu Pages group similar functions together under the Detect and Map sections. Consequently, all settings remain quickly accessible. Furthermore, you can use the Guide Series to get started quickly. Clearly, you don’t have to be an expert to find gold!
You can detect without headphones plugged directly into the detector. For example, with the WM 12 Wireless Module, you can choose to use the built-in speaker, the included headphones, or your favorite personal earbuds.
The GPZ 14 coil is completely waterproof and submersible up to 1 meter deep. Thus, you can easily locate items in rivers and shores without any fuss! Moreover, the GPZ 7000’s weatherproof design allows you to continue locating even in rainy or wet conditions.
Excerpt from test report No. 2
“I came back to an old, rich patch because I couldn’t work there before due to noise and instability. The difference with the GPZ 7000 was amazing. The gold started beautifully and steadily, with a distance of 30 grams at the end of the session. Its greatest mass weighed 12 grams and was 17 inches deep.”
Excerpt from exam report #1
“At a depth of 2½ ounces, they managed to find some good gold, including a 2½-ounce mass. Even a GPX 5000 with a 20-inch Monoloop couldn’t touch it.”
— Jonathan Porter, Australia
With its extreme depth and maximum precision, the GPZ 7000 effortlessly outperforms both the SDC 2300 and the GPX 5000.
* Minelab compared this to the average performance of the GPX 5000 in normal environments. Actual performance depends on prevailing conditions. ‡ The GPZ 7000 detector housing is only weatherproof. The GPZ 14 coil is completely waterproof up to 1 m. The WM 12 is neither waterproof nor weatherproof.
This chart shows an out-of-the-box comparison, serving as an indicative guide based on the results of laboratory measurements and field tests conducted by Minelab. Specifically, the tests utilized a GPX 5000 with an 11″ Monoloop coil, an SDC 2300 with an 8″ Monoloop coil, and a GPZ 7000 with a GPZ 14 Super-D coil. Therefore, the nominal performance of the GPX 5000 with the 11″ Monoloop coil serves as the baseline for comparison with the other detectors. Moreover, the chart demonstrates the performance of the GPX 5000 on larger nuggets better when you compare it with a similar 15” x 12” Monoloop coil. Note: A GPZ 7000 with a GPZ 14 coil typically performs even better on small to medium-sized nuggets than a GPX 5000 equipped with larger accessory coils.
Please note that the results provide a relative and realistic comparison of the three detectors for typical gold ground conditions regarding the detection of the indicated gold weight ranges. However, they do not represent performance under absolutely all conditions, so you should not consider them definitive.
Minelab does not guarantee that you will actually achieve the exact performance levels shown, because the performance of the three detectors will continually vary depending on the prevailing conditions. Ultimately, relevant factors affecting detector performance include, but are not limited to, detector settings, coil size and configuration, ground type, mineralization levels, electromagnetic interference, gold nugget size, shape, composition, and operator skill level.
